Genevieve grew up shooting video in Melbourne, Australia in the late 1980s. Not many people have seen these films because they are pretty weird, she was only 8.

Regardless of how primitive and eccentric these early works are, they confirm Genevieve's love of capturing moving images from an early age.

Since then Genevieve has remained consistently intrigued and excited about film production. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor Of Creative Arts Honours from the VCA, Melbourne University.

She has made over 40 shorts, documentaries and music videos. Genevieve's films have  screened internationally at festivals and have picked up over  25 awards to date.

Her first feature documentary I AM ELEVEN was shot across 15 countries in 12 languages and premieres at the 60th Melbourne International Film Festival in July - August 2011.

As  well as being enticed by other peoples' true stories through doco  making, her narrative films have been described as possessing  doco flavoured qualities. It is important for Genevieve to present new  and fresh faces on screen. She strives to work with people from  different age groups, experiences, backgrounds, sexualities and cultures. She thrives on the challenges that filmmaking can bring  and enjoys the pressure of making films in under 24 hours. Despite  the warnings she loves working with non-actors, children, and  animals.

Genevieve founded production company 'Proud Mother Pictures' and the Melbourne documentary community 'doco3000.'

Most recently she established the Darlingheart Foundation which works to empower and inspire women and children from disadvantaged communities.
