Hello from Camp I Am Eleven where we are excited and busy preparing for the world premiere at the 60th Melbourne International Film Festival.

I Am Eleven

Shot across 15 countries and featuring 12 different languages, "I Am Eleven" is Genevieve's first feature documentary.

Japanese Trailer

Check out the new Japanese version of the "I Am Eleven" trailer here. Japan was the very first country Genevieve shot in Internationally for the film, and she started learning the Japanese language (and loving the culture) when she was 11.
We look forward to releasing this film to Japanese audiences!

Bayside Film Festival

Genevieve is a guest of this years Bayside Film Festival, and will be presenting a workshop and Q and A in July 2010.


Post Production has been finished on "Coconuts", a new short film starring children from Our Home India. Set in the lush jungles of Kerala, this short film explores 3 teenage boys and their affection for the one girl.

Conceived, shot and edited in London, Genevieve's new film "I Just Don't Have The Time To Call Mum" was produced with Tim Foster and will premiere in Melbourne at the 15/15 International Film Festival in October. The film is nominated for Best Documentary and Best Cinematography.

Bayside Film Festival, July 15 - 18, is screening The Year I Got Younger (opening night) and Last Time I Cried.

Morocco Adventures has been awarded runner up in Lonely Planet TV Worldwide Encounters competition presented by the Portable Film Festival.

In June Genevieve attended the Sunny Side of The Doc International Film Market in La Rochelle, France, to meet with a number of international broadcasters, sales agents and distributors interested in ELEVEN.

Eleven at AIDC

Genevieve presented her cross platform documentary Eleven at the Australian International Documentary Conference in Adelaide in February. She was invited to take part in the MeetMarket to discuss the project with a number of local and international buyers. Stay tuned.

Younger and Younger

"The Year I Got Younger" was awarded Best Documentary at Love Your Work film festival, at the Cinema Nova.  The documentary premiered in Galway Film Fleadh in July and was awarded Best Short Documentary there. 

Aindrias and Genevieve are thrilled to have had success in their hometowns. The film is now being developed in to a feature film. Stay tuned.

Genevieve is currently travelling to continue production of "Eleven", her documentary about 11 year olds around the world.

Genevieve has two projects in this years Melbourne International Film Festival program.
"Little Deaths" a collaborative feature by 10 Melbourne directors, premiers Saturday August 9th, 7pm at theCapitol Theatre.
"Movie We Made" the music video for Nick Huggins shot entirely as still photographs will screen with a collection of music videos in the ORBIT program, followed by a party at the Forum Festival club.

"The Year I Got Younger" premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July, and was awarded  Best Documentary Short!
"A hangover tastes the same in every city." This new short documentary (shot in Galway, Prague and Melbourne) is about an Irish fiddle player who reflects on his old and newfound addictions.
Aindrias (the subject of the film) was in his hometown Galway for the screening and to accept the award.


"Coming Out To The Country" was awarded Best Documentary at the 15 / 15 International Film Festival on May 31st 2008!


The 15/15 Film Festival announced "Last Time I Cried" (15/15 Film Festival 2007 entry) won the "Audience Award" for 2007, with over 60% of the total votes from the national and international screenings!
We are very pleased this film reached such a wide and varied audience. Thanks to all involved!
"Last Time I Cried" has also been awarded Most Outstanding Entry for the 2008 Arts Awards held by the Cancer Council. The exhibit opens in Melbourne July 19 - August 8 then travels. For more info click here

Home away from home.

Genevieve has recently returned home to sunny Melbourne after 6 months filming across the globe. She directed new music videos in Japan, Czech Republic and the UK, attended a number of film festivals (BritDoc Oxford, Edinburgh Film Festival and Sheffield Doc Fest) and continued production on her documentary Eleven.

Genevieve also shot a number of short documentary projects. She met some more fantastic 11 year olds; Watt in Thailand, Remi in France, Billy in UK, Siham in Morocco, Rika and Mayumi in Japan. She also met up with Sahin, who features in KOMPIS, during his last months of being eleven in Malmo, Sweden. More info about ELEVEN can be found here.

London Ahoy!

Gen and Henrik have just shot the first music video for Peggy Sue and the Pirates on location in London and Brighton. The video and double single for "Television" and "New Song" will be released Nov 5. Peggy Sue and the Pirates are currently on tour with Kate Nash, they really are something special so check them out here.

Genevieve and Henrik have just finished shooting a music video for Czech band Miou Miou out in Chrudim. It was great to be shooting out in such beautiful countryside, with a great bunch of people, for a fantastic song "A l'ete de la Saint Martin '68". Check out the video here.

'Kompis' to premier in Australia.

'Kompis' (Swedish language doco with English subtitles) has been selected as a finalist in REELIFE Film Festival 2007. Reelife screens in Sydney end of April, then travels around Australia. 'Kompis' is a short doco featuring Sahin and Osama, 11 year old rappers from Sweden's south, Malmö.

This music video/film was made for the Oklahomo Trio from Sweden. 'Cesky Den' was shot during Gen's first trip to Prague in 2005, and is based on a true story. You can view this new project here.

'From Bombay to Broken Hill' and 'My One True Love'

"From Bombay To Broken Hill" is a documentary about a group of acclaimed Indian musicans and a group of colourful Aussie musos that travel across Australia with the wonderful John Anderson. Produced by Genevieve in 2002, this documentary provides a glimpse into the wonder that is, John Anderson and his Elastic Band.

My One True Love music video for Swedish rock outfit Doctor Dunbars Medicine Band (DDMB) is now online. Produced by Genevieve late 2005 in Lund, Sweden.

Stop and I'll shoot!

Last Saturday Gen and Henrik took part in the annual 15/15 Film Festival and made a film in 15 hours. The film is called "Last Time I Cried", and it's a documentary where a few friends between the age of 3 and 93 answer a few questions. Gen asked these same questions in Sweden and Japan, and soon an edit made up of people from these three countries will be edited together. 'Last Time I Cried' the Melbourne chapter of the project, will screen as part of the 15/15 Film Festival on May 26 in Melbourne at The Capitol Theatre. Visit www.filmfestival15.com

A short Doco featuring Sahin and Osama, 11 year old rappers from Sweden's south Malmö. Sahin and Osama will feature in "Eleven" but Gen couldn't resist making a shorter doco about them as well. These guys can rap! Kompis has just been invited to screen at "Allaktivitetshuset" in Malmö on November 25, and "Mejeriet" in Lund November 26.

Portable Success

Stop Signs (Oklahomo Trio video) was voted the most popular music video in the Portable Film Festival 2006, closely followed in 2nd place by Never Alone (Winterpark). Both clips were shot and directed by Gen in Prague 2005. Must be something lucky about that city! Stop Signs also came in 8th place as the most popular video in all categories! Oklahomo Trio Film

Just in time for the Prague 2006 screening, post-production was completed on "Choir Boys" aka Train to Prague aka The Oklahomo Trio film... The film is based on a true story Gen wrote about an eerie train trip from Cesky Krumlov to Prague in 2005. Starring Ida Theren (Oklahomo Trio) and John Poston, the films soundtrack features the wonderful singles "Wyoming" and "Choir Boys" by the Oklahomo Trio, with additional music by Prague-based US artist Arms and the Boy.

Gen and Henrik met up with the star of Malarchy Aindrias De Staic and could not resist shooting some great stills and video footage which will be edited together with an original score Aindrias will record when he returns to Melbourne.

Week in Prague

Just over a year after her first visit to Prague Gen is returning this week to screen a new selection of her films and music videos, several of which were shot in Prague and a couple which will premiere on this special night. Swedish band Oklahomo Trio will be playing a short set during the night that kicks off at 7pm @ Aloha.

Gen is also shooting the new Arms and The Boy music video for their single "Too Loud To Try". If you are in Prague and interested in appearing in the clip as an extra contact Gen now! It is going to be a lot of fun.

Shooting wraps up at Channel 9 Studios Melbourne

Production went extremely well, so well that Gen and her awesome crew managed to shoot 2 music videos and 1 short film over a week with the kind sponsorship of GTV 9. A huge thanks to everyone involved!

Portable Film Festival

The Portable Film Festival is an international festival of short films just for portable devices. Sony PSPs, iPod videos, 3G phones, laptop screens, you name it. Films compete through an open vote by punters who review, argue and score the films online. And it’s all free!
