I Am Eleven Shot across 15 countries and featuring 12 different languages, "I Am Eleven" is Genevieve's first feature documentary. Production on "I Am Eleven" has been keeping Genevieve busy in 2010. We have received a lot of e-mails about the project so big thanks to those who have been following the progress. Japan was the very first country Genevieve shot in Internationally for the film, and she started learning the Japanese language (and loving the culture) when she was 11. Bayside Film Festival Genevieve is a guest of this years Bayside Film Festival, and will be presenting a workshop and Q and A in July 2010. Coconuts Post Production has been finished on "Coconuts", a new short film starring children from Our Home India. Set in the lush jungles of Kerala, this short film explores 3 teenage boys and their affection for the one girl. Our Home Charity Genevieve's work with Our Home Charity continues. Eleven at AIDC Genevieve presented her cross platform documentary Eleven at the Australian International Documentary Conference in Adelaide in February. She was invited to take part in the MeetMarket to discuss the project with a number of local and international buyers. Stay tuned. The Year I Got Younger TYIGY is screening in competition at St Kilda Film Festival, Saturday May 30. Aindrias De Staic is currently performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Check out his show "Around The World on 80 Quid". Last Time I Cried LTIC has been invited to screen at the Little Big Shots Film Festival in June, which features films made by/for a young audience. The childrens´jury will select the winners. |

Home away from home. Genevieve has recently returned home to sunny Melbourne after 6 months filming across the globe. She directed new music videos in Japan, Czech Republic and the UK, attended a number of film festivals (BritDoc Oxford, Edinburgh Film Festival and Sheffield Doc Fest) and continued production on her documentary Eleven. Genevieve also shot a number of short documentary projects. She met some more fantastic 11 year olds; Watt in Thailand, Remi in France, Billy in UK, Siham in Morocco, Rika and Mayumi in Japan. She also met up with Sahin, who features in KOMPIS, during his last months of being eleven in Malmo, Sweden. More info about ELEVEN can be found here. It was great to be shooting out in such beautiful countryside, with a great bunch of people, for a fantastic song "A l'ete de la Saint Martin '68". Check out the video here. Stop and I'll shoot! Last Saturday Gen and Henrik took part in the annual 15/15 Film Festival and made a film in 15 hours. The film is called "Last Time I Cried", and it's a documentary where a few friends between the age of 3 and 93 answer a few questions. Gen asked these same questions in Sweden and Japan, and soon an edit made up of people from these three countries will be edited together. Oklahomo Trio Film Just in time for the Prague 2006 screening, post-production was completed on "Choir Boys" aka Train to Prague aka The Oklahomo Trio film... The film is based on a true story Gen wrote about an eerie train trip from Cesky Krumlov to Prague in 2005. Starring Ida Theren (Oklahomo Trio) and John Poston, the films soundtrack features the wonderful singles "Wyoming" and "Choir Boys" by the Oklahomo Trio, with additional music by Prague-based US artist Arms and the Boy. Gen and Henrik met up with the star of Malarchy Aindrias De Staic and could not resist shooting some great stills and video footage which will be edited together with an original score Aindrias will record when he returns to Melbourne. |
